Director of Office of Handwritten Manuscripts of Organization of Libraries, Museums, and Center of Deeds of Astan Quds Razavi announced, “The oldest handwritten Nahj al-Balaghah scribed in 544 A.H. by Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Naqib is preserved in Treasury of Handwritten Manuscripts of Astan Quds Razavi.
Seyed Muhammad Reza Fazel Hashemi said, “This manuscript is written in Arabized Naskh of 17 lines per sheet consisting of a total of 174 pages of 15 by 19 cm. with cinnabar titles; having a very beautiful brown bock cover, it was endowed to the library of Imam Reza (A.S.) by late Fazel Khan.”
“Besides the full text of Nahj al-Balaghah, the book, at the back, includes some notes on the role of seals of Imam Ali (A.S.) and admiration of Nahj al-Balaghah”, he remarked.
“Containing holy manuscripts and religious sources attributed to the Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.), Treasury of Handwritten Books of Astan Quds Razavi is considered one of the scientific and ideological bases of Islamic world used by many researchers every day”, Fazel Hashemi said.
“In this treasury of singular scientific, cultural, historical, and artistic works favored by many researchers, there are also exquisite handwritten manuscripts about Nahj al-Balaghah, its commentary, and its translation in Arabic and Persian that marks the significance of this great encyclopedia of Islamic culture”, he added.
It is reminded that Treasury of Handwritten Manuscripts of Astan Quds Razavi encompassing about 95000 Qur’an manuscripts and handwritten books, is among the scientific treasuries of the Islamic world created by endowers and dedicators over the history.
