The Secretariat-General of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine continues the establishment of its Medical Center under the name "Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) Cancerous Tumor Medical Center."
Laith Qais Mahmoud, engineer and supervisor of the project states that this initiative is executed in coordination with a world known Spanish Company named (OSI) which specializes in treating cancerous tumors.
The Medical Center is built on a foundation of 30,000m2 in Kerbala city and is made up of 3 buildings.
The first building will sustain various treatments such as brachytherapy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and diagnostic and resonance. It will also sustain operation areas, a pharmacy, as well as a laboratory.
In addition, the second and third buildings are specialized for the medical staff, recovery rooms, and patient housing.
It is also significant to note that the medical center is considered the largest of its kind amongst Iraq where it will consist of the latest medical technology and equipment that meet global standards.
