Portuguese Foreign Minister said on Sunday that public opinion in the world should pay attention to the issue that extremists are different from Muslims and followers of other religions.
Rui Machete in a meeting with Isfahan Governor-General Rasoul Zargarpour said that divine religions are for promotion of peace, friendship and constructive communication and not for violence.
He underlined that no insult should be made to divine religions and added that politicians and diplomats should condemn any kind of sacrilege to religious sanctities.
Machete said that Portugal will never accept any kind of insult and expressed hope that problems could be settled by patience and tolerance.
He said that visit of Isfahan city would be a turning point in bilateral ties and stressed that cooperation would develop from the cultural field to economic cooperation as well.
Machete said that he was pleased with his visit to Isfahan, adding that Portuguese Culture Minister was very happly with his visit to Isfahan and said: 'I am here.'
Referring to economic and scientific activists accompanying the Portuguese delegation, Machete said that the negotiations would not be limited just to commercial and trade issues and that relations would develop in the fields of science and technology.
He expressed hope that existing obstacles for expansion of scientific, economic and tourism would be removed.
Portuguese FM said that the two countries have appropriate political ties which can be promoted to a better level and develop bilateral dialogue.
Rui Machete on the head of a Portuguese delegation arrived in Isfahan from Mashad.
The Portuguese delegation are to visit historical sites of Isfahan.
