The Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad has met in Doha on Tuesday with both PA chief Mahmoud Abbas and Political bureau chairman of Hamas Khaled Mishaal.
The official Qatari TV reported that Sheikh Tamim congratulated both Abbas and Mishaal over the recent reconciliation agreement.
The Emir affirmed his country’s backing to all efforts aimed at ending the internal Palestinian division, the broadcast said, adding that overall Palestinian developments were discussed during the meeting.
The report said that both Abbas and Mishaal thanked the Emir of Qatar for his country’s supportive stance of the Palestinian people and their just rights.
Abbas and Mishaal had held a separate meeting on Monday during which means of implementing the reconciliation agreement were discussed.
