Two men robbed a mosque for booze in Tatarstan

Police detained two residents of Al'met'evsk district, suspected of stealing donations in one of the local mosques, the press service of the Interior Ministry in Tatarstan reports.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  Police detained two residents of Al'met'evsk district, suspected of stealing donations in one of the local mosques, the press service of the Interior Ministry in Tatarstan reports.                        

On January 21, unknown persons broke a window of a mosque, penetrated into the building and stole donated money (ten thousand rubles). Imam-Khatib of the mosque had found the loss, and called the police.           

Despite of the fact that the mosque wasn’t equipped with video surveillance system and there was nobody on the territory of the mosque, the police officers have found the criminals and detained them.

The criminals are two young men, 17 and 18 years old, the residents of Al'met'evsk, one of them has previously been convicted for theft.

The investigation revealed that this is the second theft of detainees from the same mosque: at the beginning of December 2013, they stole six thousand rubles of donations. All the stolen money, young men spent on booze.
