KARACHI, Pakistan (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Solemn mourners reenacted the funeral march of the martyrs of Karbala as the Shia community conducted the 72-Taboot (coffin) procession on Sunday. The procession proceeded along MA Jinnah Road, which was closed off by the traffic police. As a result, traffic flow from Lasbella till Purani Numaish was disrupted and commuters were left questioning the government’s decision to close off MA Jinnah Road again, as it had officially remained shut for traffic from 8th Muharram to 10th Muharram.Public transport was diverted onto alternate routes, leading to major traffic congestion and jams on several main roads. A spokesperson for the Shia community clarified that the road was only shut down for the procession.Citizens expressed displeasure at the mismanagement, decrying the lack of an alternate traffic plan and singling out the Sindh police and Rangers for harsh criticism. /129
