(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Union opposed any foreign military intervention in Syria, underlining that it is the Syrian nation that should decide for the future of the country, yabiladi website reported. It also warned against any cooperation on the part of the Moroccan government in a possible aggression on Syria. “Any military aggression on Syria is unacceptable, illegitimate and unjustified,” the statement stressed, adding that Morocco’s Shias are surprised of talks about preparations for attacking Syria while the UN report on the chemical attack in a Damascus suburb has not yet been published. The Shias Union of Morocco underscored that the Syrian crisis can only be resolved by the Syrian people themselves and that any foreign intervention would only exacerbate the situation in Syria. The call for military strike against Syria intensified after the Takfiri militants and the foreign-backed Syrian opposition accused the government of President Bashar al-Assad of launching a chemical attack on militant strongholds in the suburbs of Damascus on August 21. The Syrian government categorically rejects the claims and says the attack was carried out by the militants to draw in military intervention./149
