Iran, Korea scholars confer religious values

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Head of ICRO’s Center of Interreligious Dialogue and Civilizations Ali Mohammad Helmi has said that the organization has arranged for a meeting with a Korean delegation on understanding religious principles between Iranian as well as Korean scholars. As he said, the meeting is being held in line with the center’s agenda to hold talks with followers of other religions, to reach an understanding between different religions. Religious values as well as the role of different religions on the social and individual lives of their followers are discussed during the sessions. Iran’s former cultural attaché in the UK went on to underline the necessity of such talk sessions as being a way to fathom out the role each spiritual belief plays in the lives of its followers whether socially or individually. Previously, similar sessions were arranged with Christians and Jews at the ICRO. The sessions are mainly focused on the role of religion on promotion of ethical and human values. During the 4-day stay in Iran, the Korean delegation will visit various religious centers in Iran including mosques, churches and seminaries to learn about their conditions and activities in the Islamic Republic of Iran. From Iran, head of the ICRO Mohammad Bagher Khoramshad, Ali Mohammad Helmi, dean of University of Religions and Denominations Hujatoleslam Abolhassan Navab, and head of the World Religion Research Center Abdolrahim Govahi are some of the figures who will attend the sessions. Also from Korea, Kim Tae Sung, Christian leader, deputy secretary of the" Korean Conference of Religions for Peace”, Chief editor of the Korean Conference of Religion and Peace (KCRP) Journal and others will attend the session./149
