(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Addressing a conference of Palestinian national and Islamic groups for defending Syria, Aradat stated that the recent Israeli raid on Syria should push Islamic and Arab nations to change their stance and adjust the points of the their political compass.
"We are fighting the Zionist regime and its aggression," he reminded, underlining that the Israeli aggression against Syria requires all Muslim nations to rise in support of Damascus.
The top Fatah official further noted that the Palestinian group will side with any Arab nation against Israel, and added, "Since Syria is an Arab country, defending it is a national, moral, ethnic, Arab and humanitarian obligation."
In similar remarks on Thursday, Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Movement Seyed Hassan Nasrallah voiced the movement's support for Syria's efforts to free the Golan Heights.
The Lebanese movement will stand by the Syrian resistance against Israel, specifically in its struggle to free the Golan Heights, Nasrallah said in a televised speech in Beirut, referring to the part of the Syrian territory, which is under Israeli occupation.
He pointed to the recent Israeli strikes against Syria, and noted that the attacks were part of Israel's ongoing campaign to prevent the resistance from becoming stronger.
The remarks by Nasrallah came a few days after the Israeli regime carried out an airstrike on a research center in a suburb of Damascus. According to Syrian media reports, Israeli rockets struck the Jamraya research center.
Syria's Foreign Ministry sent letters to the United Nations and its Security Council stating that Israel's aggression shows the links between Tel Aviv and terrorist groups operating in Syria including the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front.
Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoabi told reporters in Damascus on Sunday that Syria had the right and the duty to defend its people by all available means and it would not give in to Israeli acts of aggression.
The Israeli attacks on Syria have made the Middle-East more dangerous, the Syrian information minister said.
The Sunday Israeli aggression was Tel Aviv's second strike on Syria in three days.
The Jamraya facility was also targeted in an Israeli airstrike in January.
