Japanese Buddhist Doctor Converted to Shia Islam

A Japanese Buddhist female converted to Shia Islam and changed her name to Fatima in presence of Lahijan Friday prayer leader.

LAHIJAN, Iran (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to ABNA, Japanese female doctor converted from Buddhist to Shia Islam in presence of Ayatollah Serfi Pour, the Friday prayer leader of Lahijan, Iran today 17th April 2013. Dr. Fusaco Kunishi, 29-year old, lives in Japan and is a pharmacist.The Buddhist lady interested in Islam after living with a Shia family in Japan. Her deep studying about Islam led her to choose Islam.She then said the Shahadah (statement of faith) and converted to Islam in presence of Lahijan Friday prayer leader and choose Fatima as her Islamic name.At the end, Friday prayer of Lahijan, Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Serfi Pour congratulated her as a person who came out from darkness to light. /129
