Islamic Republic’s power is from nation’s support, Majlis(Parliament) Member Gholam-Ali Haddad Adel said on Thursday.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - He made the remarks in a meeting with Gilan Province Payame Noor University (PNU) students and teachers.

“People’s support of the Islamic Revolution is rooted in their faith in the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei; progresses made in Iran including the advancements made in the fields of missile and airspace technologies are the results of unity of beliefs between people and government.”

Haddad Adel called independence as a major achievement of Islamic Republic in fulfilling nation’s demands.

Speaking about the fading role of family in the American society, he noted that spread of violence in the US is the result of forgetting the spiritual values.

“Liberty is not more than a lie in US; Islamic Republic of Iran as a government established and based on religion is inspiring for the world nations.”

Violence in the US society, including the schools is developing. Just in one case of such violence, twenty school children were slaughtered by a heavily armed gunman who opened fire at a suburban elementary school in Connecticut, killing at least 28 people, including himself in one of the worst mass shootings in US history.

The 20-year-old gunman, identified as Adam Lanza, fired what witnesses described as dozens of shots at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, which serves children from ages 5 to 10.

The shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School appeared to be the USˈ second-deadliest school shooting, exceeded only by the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007, in which 32 people, including two Indians, were killed and 17 others wounded.
