New Town for Karbala Pilgrims

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  A new town built for hosting the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine will be inaugurated next week, Non14 website reported.Muhammad Kazem Hassan, head of the technical and engineering office of the holy shrine said the town has been constructed near the road from Karbala to Babil.He said there is a 4 kilometer distance between the town and the holy shrine.It is inaugurated to better serve the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine especially during peak pilgrimage seasons when millions of Imam Hussein (AS) devotees convene in Karbala, Hassan noted.He added that the Imam Hussein (AS) Town has an area of 50,000 square meters. It has 13 two-story buildings and includes different facilities such as parking lots, a medical clinic, prayer hall and green areas. /129
