(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi described the NonAligned Movement as an active movement that can stand against the voracity of the US and its allies.Speaking on Sunday in Tehran, he said US leaders’ policies are based on attacking other countries and killing people, adding that US officials have closed their eyes and only support the Zionist regime.Rahimi further said there is only one country that is non-aligned in the real sense of the world, and that is the Islamic Republic of Iran. “This is what many of the NAM members attending the Tehran summit highlighted.” He also described the three-year presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran over NAM as a very heavy responsibility. According to Rahimi, despite the Americans’ attempts to dissuade leaders of NAM member states from attending the Tehran summit, the 16th summit registered a record in terms of the number of participating countries. He underlined that the stage is set for formation of global management, and said those who laughed at the idea of global management can now join this movement.Brushing aside the West’s allegations about Iran having nuclear weapons, Rahimi said Iran’s nuclear weapons are its scientists.The 16th NAM Summit ended on Friday, with member states passing a final resolution, which included over 700 paragraphs.Iran took over the rotating presidency of the NAM for a three-year term during the summit. NAM is an international organization with 120 member states that is not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc.
