(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The visit by Egyptian President Mohammad Mursi to Iran indicates change in the country's foreign policy, an Egyptian spokesman said.
According to a report by Ahram online, Spokesman of Egypt's Presidential Office Yasser Ali said that Mursi's visits to countries such as Iran, China and the US show change in Egypt's foreign policy.
"Egyptian foreign policy will be different from the policies under (toppled president) Hosni Mubarak," he stated, adding, "Egypt's foreign policy will be adopted based on the principles of the January 25 (2011) revolution."
He further opined that Mursi's visit to China was part of the Egyptian president's efforts to create opportunities for deepening economic ties between the two states.
President Mursi left Beijing and arrived in Tehran on Thursday morning to attend the NAM summit and discuss regional and international issues with Iranian officials.
He officially handed the presidency of the movement to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during the inaugural ceremony of the 16th NAM Summit in Tehran on Thursday morning.
