Presence of most of leaders of the Non-Aligned Movement member states in the NAM summit reveals their non-alignment to the global imperialism, said the head of Foreign Ministry’s representative office on Kish Island.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Talking to IRNA Monday, Ali Reza Mosaferi added that 120 member states along with 17 observers and 10 international organizations are participating in the event.Referring to Iran’s active presence in NAM over the two past decades, he also said that hosting the 16th NAM Summit and presence of leaders and ministers of half of the member states will promote Iran’s status and diplomatic credit in international circles.Despite the sanctions imposed on Iran by the US and the West, Iran has turned the sanctions into opportunities through reliance on its capabilities, he said.Referring to NAM’s role in solving regional and international disputes, Mosaferi said that Iran will help solve regional and international crises by taking over the presidency of NAM.Te participation of UN chief Ban-Ki Moon and Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi in the Tehran summit opens a golden page in the history of Iran’s diplomatic efforts in the region and world, he said.Describing changes in the UN structure as an unavoidable issue, he said that the summit will also discuss the topic.Most of the member states including Iran are worried about the increasing Security Council’s authorities against decreasing capabilities of UN General Assembly, Mosaferi said.He also said that the summit is a suitable opportunity for fighting monopolistic world and bullying powers’ unilateralism. /219
