Quran Memorizers Honored in Turkey

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The program was organized by the Religious Center of Tortum city on July 7.It began with Quran recitations followed by speeches by Jalal Buyuk, religious scholar of the region, who talked about the importance of learning to read and memorize the Holy Quran’s verses.Out of 60 students who attend courses in the Quranic centers of the city, 18 have succeeded to memorize the entire Quran, he said.Opening of a new Islamic school by the Educational Center of the city, which will host a large number of students in Quranic fields, will result in an increase in the number of Quran memorizers, he noted.Dr. Mustafa Agirman, lecturer of the Faculty of Divinity, Ataturk University, also presented a speech at the program quoting a hadith by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) on the importance of reading and memorizing the Holy Quran. /129
