(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Mohammadi said the ompetition will begin on June 17 in the presence of the president, head of the judiciary and the Majlis Speaker at Millad Tower conference hall and will wrap up on June 22.
He went on to say that Quranic activists from 68 Islamic and non-Islamic countries such as France, the UK, Russia, China, Denmark, Norway and Malaysia will take part in the contest.
As he said, 47 Quran memorizers and 58 reciters will definitely take part in the contest. From Iran, Hussein Motamedi, Isfahan, Ghasem Moghadami, Khuzestan, will partake in the contest.
He went on to say that 14 superior international judges will be the members of the jury of the competition. 9 of the judges come from Egypt, Malaysia, Algeria, Indonesia, Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Lebanon and the rest will be from Iran: Abbas Emamjome, Hussein Saeidian, Javad Sadat Fatemi.
He asserted that the presence of Quran activists from around the globe shows the significance of the Holy Quran.
“The Holy Quran is the book of all mankind and is celebrated by all Muslims. Holding such gatherings are a great measure against desecration of the book because the contest is arranged by the people and is not dependent on any governments or states.”
Mohammadi further expounded on the sideline programs of the contest and said that the best researchers of the Quranic Research Contest held during February will be honored in the contest.
The studies were on 12 specialized topics on Quran and Islamic awakening.
Besides, 15 select articles were submitted to the secretariat of contest from different countries which will be praised during the contest. The articles came from countries like Egypt, Ethiopia, Syria, Pakistan, India, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, England, France, Iraq, Tunisia and Sweden.
He also added that a conference will be held to praise women engaged in Quranic activities as another sideline program of the competition; their performance in 12 Quranic fields have been assessed and 29 out of 1,500 women will be lauded during the conference.
The fields are Quranic screenings, Quranic training, Quranic research project, management of Quranic affairs, Quranic-artistic activities, digital Quranic services and information, Quranic evangelists, Quranic writers and compilers, successful Quranic families, international and national winners of Quranic competitions, scientific Quranic activists and Quranic donors.
The event is arranged on June 20 at Milad Tower conference hall.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi finalized his statements in the competition’s press headquarters by stating that an exhibition of cultural products will also be held in which the products will be sold with a special discount for the visitors.
