Ahul-ul-Bayt’s (AS) Legacy in Interfaith Dialogue Invaluable

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - We have inherited the invaluable legacy of Ahul-ul-Bayt’s (AS) in the field of interfaith dialogue, said scientific secretary of the Center for Religious Dialogue.Addressing a forum titled ‘Common Responsibility of Muslims and Christians toward Quds’, Seyyed Abdol-Majid Mirdamadi added that this precious legacy shows the way for positive interaction and tolerance towards followers of other faiths.He noted that Islam forbids any violation of the rights of the People of the Book (Jews, Christians, Zoroastrians, etc) who live in Islamic territory.Mirdamadi pointed to the resumption of religious dialogue in the world after centuries and said the Islamic Republic of Iran seeks to develop dialogue with Abrahamic and non-Abrahamic religions.He said in the Holy Quran and the Infallibles’ (AS) Hadiths, the faithful have been urged to exchange views with followers of other religions. “This shows Islam’s logic and its tolerance that led to creation of a rich literature of dialogue in Islamic civilization.”The ‘Common Responsibility of Muslims and Christians toward Quds’ forum was held on Sunday, May 27, at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization in Tehran.The forum was part of a series of dialogues between Muslims and Evangelical Churches. /129
