Tehran Friday Prayer: Those Who Insulted Imam Hadi (AS) Have Virtually Died

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Tehran’s substitute Friday prayer leader condemned desecration of the Infallible Imams (AS) and said those who insulted Imam Hadi (AS) have virtually died, as there is no security for them anywhere.Addressing worshippers at Tehran University Camus on Friday, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami extended condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hadi (AS) and said those who desecrated the Imam (AS) mistakenly thought that they can enter the path that the world arrogance opened to them and get away with it.“Now there is no security for them anywhere. I hope this will be a lesson for others,” he said, adding that everyone should realize what the status of infallible Imams (AS) is for Shia Muslims.Ayatollah Khatami further congratulated the worshippers on the birth anniversary of Imam Baqer (AS) and said Islam is indebted to the efforts made by Imam Baqer (AS) and his son Imam Sadeq (AS) to elucidate and spread the pure Muhammadan Islam.He then referred to the imminent inauguration of the 9th Majlis (parliament) and said Majlis is the symbol of religious democracy in Iran.The senior cleric urged the MPs to fulfill their responsibilities and exercise unity and accord.He added that people expect their lawmakers to pay attention to the slogan of the year, namely ‘National Production, Support for Iranian Labor and Capital”.Elsewhere in his sermon, Ayatollah Khatami pointed to the talks between Iran and the six world powers (P5+1) in Baghdad and said that it is the West that must build the confidence.He reiterated that Iran has achieved the knowhow and technology to enrich uranium to 20 percent purity and will not retreat from its right to 20 percent enrichment.On the plan for union between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, he regarded it a great treason and stressed that the courageous people of Bahrain will not allow their rulers to pillage their country.Ayatollah Khatami also referred to the anti-Islamic moves taken by the officials of the Azerbaijan Republic and their friendship with Zionist regime’s authorities, urging Azerbaijani leaders not to clash with Islam. /129
