(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - IRI's oil minister said on Saturday that the country would certainly cut its oil exports to some European countries.
"Our oil exports will certainly be cut to some European countries ... We will decide about other European countries later," Rostam Qasemi said.
Qasemi did not identify the countries but the measure is in retaliation for the decision by the EU's 27 member states to stop importing crude from Iran from July 1.
The EU accounted for 25 percent of Iranian crude oil sales in the third quarter of 2011.
Oil Minister added that Iran is not after creating tension in the region and is interested in establishment of stability in the entire region.
He said the West is well aware of the fact that Iran was facing very difficult conditions in oil production and exports during 1980-88 war with Iraq but managed to overcome them.
Condemning sanctions against Iran's oil exports, he said many countries have very good trade ties with Iran.
He further noted that such countries as China, South Korea and India are very unlikely to join the US and Europe in oil sanctions against Iran.
