Talks during the meeting dealt with latest developments in Syria, with members of the visiting delegation expressing their condolences to the victims of the terrorist bombing that took place in Damascus on Friday claiming the lives of tens of martyrs and wounding scores others.
Kamalak underlined that the Turkish people stand by the Syrian counterpart to face what they are exposed to, rejecting any foreign intervention in Syria's domestic affairs and hoping relations between Syria and Turkey are back to normal, particularly after the great achievements fulfilled by the two states on the levels of bilateral ties and issues of the region.
President al-Assad stressed the deep-rooted relations between the Syrian and Turkish peoples, and that no one could affect them due to the geographic, historic and fraternal ties that connect them.
Members of the delegation said that would convey the full image about what is happening in Syria as they saw, and will work to help Syria overcome this crisis as what harm Syria would affect the regional countries.
In September 2011, a delegation from the Turkish Republican People's Party (Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi) headed by MP Osman Faruk Logoglu paid a visit to Syria, touring several areas including Homs, Hama and Lattakia and witnessed firsthand the reality of the situation in Syria.
Head of the Turkish Felicity Party: Meeting With President Al-Assad Constructive
Leader of the Turkish Felicity Party Mustafa Kamalak described the meeting with President Bashar al-Assad as "useful and constructive."
In a press conference held on Saturday at al-Sham Hotel, Kamalak stressed that the Syrian leadership is serious about the comprehensive reform program.
He condemned the terrorist attack which took place in al-Midan neighborhood last Friday, offering condolences to the families of the martyrs.
He pointed out that the purpose of the delegation's visit to Syria is to closely brief on the reality of the events, hoping that there won’t be foreign interference in the Syrian internal affairs because the Syrians are able to solve their own problems.
