(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Jumblatt said national dialogue is the only way to resolve the issue of the national defense strategy, including the issue of Hezbollah's weapons, which are essential for Lebanon's security.
“The principle of the state is important to everyone, including the resistance,” he added.
The Lebanese government says Hezbollah's military capability is part of Lebanon's national defense.
In addition, Jumblatt announced that he would be running for the leadership of his party one last time.
“My candidacy today is the last one and we should consider the new council to be elected as a transitional or temporary council until we reach new elections that should take not longer than a year,” he said during his party's annual general assembly meeting in Aley, 17 kilometers south of Beirut.
