“Prophet (PBUH), Holy Quran in Russian Classic Poems” Published

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A book entitled “Prophet (PBUH) and holy Quran in Russian classic poems” by Nazem Dirawi was published in Russian and Arabic languages.  The book includes poems by 12 eminent Russian poets such as Pushkin, Shishkin, Weltman and Bunen.  The writer has discussed forty poems the themes of which have originated from the holy Quran’s verses and the poems in which the holy prophet of Islam has been characterized.  The book also reveals the deep influence of Islamic morality and spirituality on non-Muslim Russian poets.  Dirawi started his book with some effective researches on history of Quran translation in Russian language, Quran reflected in the poems of Alexander Pushkin and contemporary poets, Quran effects on the poems of the silver era of Russian literature and Arabic Islamic influences on Ukrainian classic poetry.  Ordered by the Islamic Studies Foundation, the book was published in mid-October in Saint Petersburg.  Nazem Majid Dirawi was born in 1957 in Basrah, Iraq and studied at Beirut and St. Petersburg universities. He got his PhD degree in 1994 in History. He is head of the Cultural Arabic Russian Independent Center and one of the official researchers of Academy of Sciences in Russia./129
