Israeli protesters have announced plans to hold fresh anti-regime demonstrations after having cancelled rallies scheduled to be held last weekend.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - During the rallies, Israelis will protest the increasing costs of living in Israel.

Israeli protesters have held demonstrations against the handling of the economy in Israel for the past four weeks.

The cancellation of last week's rallies was due to Israel's military aggression on the impoverished Gaza Strip, which was claimed to be in response to August 18 assaults that targeted two buses and a military vehicle near the Red Sea resort of Eilat in southern Israel.

“The disintegration of a society is a long-term threat,” said Stav Shaffir, a protest movement leader.

Tel Aviv has over the past week launched several airstrikes on Gaza, killing at least 22 Palestinians and injuring many more.

Israelis have been calling for a million-man march to take place across Israel.

Anti-regime protests erupted in Israel in mid-July as activists began setting up tents in Tel Aviv to protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's economic and social policies.

The protests quickly spread, with tent camps appearing in many cities across Israel.

The demonstrators are also opposed to Israel's illegal settlement expansions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
