(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Sheikh Raed Salah's application for bail was accepted Friday by a High Court judge pending the outcome of legal challenges. His release is expected to take place on Monday because one of the conditions of bail is a safe address in London where Salah will stay during his bail, which will have to be checked by Home Office officials.
Sheikh Salah, leader of the Islamic movement in 1948-occupied Palestine, was detained on June 28 in the UK during a speaking tour on the orders of home secretary Theresa May, who said that he was on a ban list, despite the fact that he entered the country quite legally.
A media campaign was launched ahead of Sheikh Salah’s visit to the UK by a group of pro-Israeli journalists claiming that Salah was a racist, an anti-Semite and a hate preacher.
The Home Office lawyers seem to be relying on those articles and whatever the Israeli occupation government is providing them with to prove against Sheikh Salah what the Israelis could not prove against him in Israeli occupation courts.
