(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Unknown gunmen have killed at least 12 people and wounded several others in Pakistan's largest city of Karachi amid further deployment of troops to keep the violence at bay.
Most of the victims were killed in separate militant attacks in Karachi's Orangi Town, Kati Pahari and Qasba Colony on Tuesday.
Also on Tuesday, separate militant attacks in Balochistan, North Waziristan tribal region, and in the neighboring district of South Waziristan left nine Pakistani troops dead and several others injured.
Militant attacks in Pakistan are on the rise as pro-Taliban elements in the country have vowed to avenge the death of former al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who the US has claimed to have killed in an unauthorized military operation in Pakistan in early May.
Former officials with Pakistan's military and intelligence service say that the US has falsely claimed it has killed bin Laden in Pakistan as part of a scheme to invade the South Asian country under the pretext of harboring the terrorist leader.
