The 19th international Quran contest of Al-Azhar for the youth under 25 will be held from 19th to 26th Aug 2011 (19th to 26th Ramadan 1432), in London, UK.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The 19th international Quran contest of Al-Azhar for the youth under 25 will be held from 19th to 26th Aug 2011 (19th to 26th Ramadan 1432), in London, UK.

 It is aimed at encouraging the youth to memorize the Quran and applying Quranic teachings in their lives to follow the right path.

 The competition categories include memorizing all the Holy Qur’an with modulation (Tajweed) and intonation (Tarteel) along with interpreting the fifteenth part of the Holy Qur’an, memorizing all the Holy Qur’an with Tajweed and Tarteel, memorizing twenty parts of the Holy Qur’an with Tajweed and Tarteel from the first part to the twentieth part, memorizing ten parts of the Holy Qur’an with Tajweed and Tarteel from the first part to the tenth part and memorizing six consecutive parts of the Holy Qur’an with Tajweed and Tarteel.

 The candidates must be acquainted with the strict rules and essence of reciting the Holy Qur’an and they should not be one of the prominent reciters of the Holy Qur’an in the Muslim world, or a professional man of Tajweed and Tarteel in his native country, or agraduate of Al-Azhar.

 Also the candidate should not be a winner of the last year competition, though he can apply to compete in another branch higher than what he had competed in the last year and they should not be more than 25 years old with no limit to the minimum age.
