Otri discussed with Iraqi counterpart Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad means of developing cooperation between Syria and Iraq to achieve their joint interests in all domains.
Talks during the meeting dealt with prospects of cooperation in economy, trade, oil, transport, electricity as well as cooperation in the fields of customs, finance and carrying out investment and economic partnership.
Both sides also discussed ways of activating the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the two countries founded in 2009, and mechanism of activating singed agreements and joint committees supported by new agreements to boost future cooperation.
Otri congratulated al-Maliki and the Iraqi people for forming the new Iraqi cabinet and wining the Parliament confidence.
The two premiers stressed their countries' commitment to push Syrian-Iraqi relations forwards and open broader aspects of joint cooperation in different fields.
Otri started today an official visit to the brotherly country of Iraq to discuss with the Iraqi officials cooperation between the two countries and means of boosting them in the fields of economy and development.
Premier Otri is accompanied by an official governmental delegation including Finance, Foreign, Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministers, the Chairman of the State Planning Commission and the Assistant to Vice President.
