(AhlulBayt News Agency) - "The dirty hands of blasphemous ill-wishers who are neither Shiite nor Sunni once again came out from the sleeves of the world arrogant powers and targeted the Shiite and Sunni sisters and brothers of this land to stir religious feud and division in the Muslim countries, including the Islamic Iran, in a bid to prepare the ground for the arrogant powers to get rid of the quagmire which has been created for them in the international community," representatives of Iran's Sunni Muslim population at the parliament said in a statement on Sunday.
The fraction also stressed that the terrorist plot had been hatched by the world arrogant powers headed by the criminal US and Israel and exercised by their hirelings inside and outside Iran, and expressed the hope that the real origins and masterminds of this inhuman action would be identified and punished soon.
At least 37 people, including women and children, were killed and 95 others were wounded when a bomb exploded near crowds of mourners who had gathered to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hossein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the third Imam of Shiite Islam, in the Southeastern city of Chabahar on Wednesday.
The Pakistani-based Jundollah terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack. While western media strive to portray Jundollah as a proponent of Sunni Islam against the Shiite-ruled Islamic Republic, the terrorist group has, thus far, killed dozens of Sunni Iranians in its attacks, including its recent bomb attack in Chabahar.
The Jundollah group has claimed responsibility for numerous terrorist attacks in Iran. The group has carried out mass murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, acts of sabotage and bombings. They have targeted civilians and government officials as well as all ranks of Iran's military.
After Iran arrested Jundollah's number one Abdolmalek Rigi in late February, the criminal ringleader confessed that he was traveling to Bishkek to meet with a high-ranking US official at a nearby military base to discuss new terrorist attacks on Iranian territory. Rigi was executed in June.
Iran says that there are few remaining elements of the group that the United States and British intelligence services are supporting.
