Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; OIC has announced that Islamic college “Zaitoon” in Chicago has been opened on 28th of September in the presence of OIC’s general secretary Ihsanuddin Oghlo.
This private Islamic college has been working since 1981 as an only college which awards to the students Graduation degrees in Arabic literature and Islamic researches.
This old building was bought by a person Shour Drieve and started its first academic term in 1983 as Arabic calligraphy; contemporary Islamic activities, Turkish art and history of relations between Islam and Christianity have been added to it so far.
Zaitoon Islamic college is the only Islamic institute in North America which awards highest degree to its students in culture, ethics and Islamic beliefs fields.
This college has been awarding B.A. degree to its students since 1991, as reported by al-Yaum al-Sab’e news agency.
