Ahlul Bayt News Agency - ABNA - The Aal Al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in Amman, Jordan, plans to hold a conference on “Environment in Islam” from September 27 to 29.
According to Al-Dastoor newspaper, it will be the fifteenth conference of the institute to be held under the patronage of the king of Jordan.
The three-day conference will be attended by one hundred intellectuals of the institute who are representatives of Islamic institutions of various schools of thought from 40 Arab, non-Arab and Muslim countries.
38 papers are to be presented at the program on the main themes of “Environment in the Holy Quran and the Prophet's (PBUH) Hadith”, “Animals and living beings in the Holy Quran and the Prophet's Hadith”, “Muslim's interest in the Environment in history, and in their countries in modern times” and “role of Islamic values in presenting solutions for international environmental problems”.
Explaining principles of Islam with regards to preserving the environment and preventing destruction of the environment by humans and clarification of Islamic values inviting to maintain natural heritage for the use of mankind are among the objectives of the conference.
Representatives from Bangladesh, Turkey, Morocco, Oman, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nigeria, Pakistan, India, UAE, Chad, Iran, Lebanon, France, Russia, America, Malaysia, Syria, Sudan, Brunei, Mauritania, Kuwait, Gambia, Libya, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Germany, Qatar, Canada, Senegal and Indonesia will attend the conference.
