Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Mangalore, India -- With his photographic memory, Qamar can recite all 114 chapters of the Quran. He can also recite over 150 Hadiths and over 100 Duas.
Dream fulfilled
Qamar has fulfilled the dream of his father Taha Hasan, a businessman of Ullal. But Taha never thought he would achieve it just three years after being sent to an Arabic school.
Qamar says, “Though I found it difficult in the beginning, now I have got a hold on the language. Reading Arabic is much easier than learning any other language. I also prefer reading the Quran over other books.”
Qamar joined the Iqra Arabic School run under the Maulana Sayyed Abdul Hassan Ali Nadwi Education Foundation at the age of five, while he was in class 2. He learnt to read the entire Quran with the correct pronunciation within a year-and-a-half and earned himself the title of Hafiz (memorizer of the Quran).
Small wonder
The title Hafiz is awarded to a student who recites the Quran 10 times without seeing the text. But Qamar surprised his teachers by completing the first recitation test in only three days of marathon sittings. And within a few days, he passed all the 10 rounds of recitation tests.
According to his Ustads, Qamar is a rare talent who can understand and recite anything very quickly. “He’s Allah’s gift,” says Ustad Maulana Davood.
Quick learner
Maulana Saalim Nadwi, principal of the school, said, though Qamar used to cry in the initial days, he grasped lessons very quickly. He is good in elocution and composition and is well versed in Urdu and Arabic besides Beary which is his mother tongue.
Qamar is studying in class 5 at Peace English Medium School, Mangalore.
