Report: Why’s the IAEA and Grossi not Condemning US-Israeli Attacks on Iran’s Nuclear Facilities?

As the war on Iran continues, Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant has come under attacks several times, raising concerns about safety of the facility. However, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has not yet reacted to these dangerous attacks. In this connection, the IAEA website, without condemning the attacks, said that the Secretary-General Rafael Grossi was strongly concerned about the developments.

ABNA24 - As the war on Iran continues, Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant has come under attacks several times, raising concerns about safety of the facility. However, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has not yet reacted to these dangerous attacks. In this connection, the IAEA website, without condemning the attacks, said that the Secretary-General Rafael Grossi was strongly concerned about the developments.

Reports indicate that Iran has sent 12 letters to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), warning them about their failure to fulfill their responsibilities. Experts suggest that the least Grossi could do under the current circumstances is request an emergency meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors. However, the agency has yet to take such action and has remained indifferent to Iran's letters and legal requests.

In the context of the US-Israeli aggressions, the Bushehr nuclear power plant has been attacked four times. Fortunately, these attacks have not caused any damage, harm, or radioactive leaks, and no contamination or increase in radiation levels has been recorded outside the Natanz and Ardakan facilities. Nonetheless, the IAEA has not taken any preventive measures to stop these ongoing aggressions.

Overall, the attacks by the Israeli regime and the US against the Bushehr nuclear plant are in clear violation of international principles and regulations, including various resolutions from the United Nations Security Council, the IAEA Board of Governors, and the General Conference of the IAEA. To date, these attacks have not been condemned by the Security Council, the Board of Governors, the IAEA, or even by the secretary-general himself.

Grossi affiliated with the Israeli regime

Various foreign sources suggest that Grossi is an agent of the Israeli regime. This can be understood from his behavior and remarks and his anti-Iranian standings that led to the UN IAEA's Board of Governors' resolution in June, giving the Israeli regime and the US the justification to attack the facilities during 12-day war.

Grossi also refused to condemn the US and Israeli attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities, instead seeking to secure his own interests by traveling to the US and asking the country’s Secretary of State Mark Rubio to support his bid for the position of UN Secretary-General, in exchange for his betrayal of the Iranian people. The Israeli leadership, in turn, recommended to the US Secretary of State that he assist Grossi in achieving his goals as a reward for his compliance.

In addition to his previous betrayals, Grossi is now insisting on sending his inspectors to the bombed Iranian nuclear sites to assess the extent of the damage caused by the bombings. It is evident that Grossi's intention with this inspection is to prepare a report detailing the destruction from the attacks and share it with his American and Israeli allies. This information could potentially inform their decisions about whether further devastation is necessary at Iran's nuclear facilities.

Grossi's biased approach

Reports indicate that since Rafael Grossi took the IAEA post, there has been a close coordination between Israeli representatives and Grossi himself in shaping international consensus against Iran through the agency.

The claims made by the IAEA regarding uranium particles found at so-called undisclosed sites in Turqouzabad, Varamin, and Marivan align exactly with what has been raised during Grossi’s tenure, and these allegations had previously been put forth by Tel Aviv. In fact, Grossi has essentially echoed Tel Aviv's baseless accusations against Iran by bringing such claims to the forefront.

He has also repeatedly warned about Iran enriching uranium at 60 percent or more, with many seeing these warnings as actually Tel Aviv’s words.
