Iran's judiciary news agency, Mizan, has announced the execution of an enemy terrorist agent who, during the January riots in Tehran, set fire to a military facility and attempted to steal weapons from it.

According to Mizan, Amirhossein Hatami, who along with other rioters in the January 2025 unrest attempted to break into a military center, destroy it, and seize the weapons stored there, was hanged at dawn on Thursday.Mizan added that during the riots on January 8th and the terrorist acts committed by the rioters, Amirhossein Hatami and several other rioters attacked a classified military site in Tehran, vandalized it, and set it on fire.Mizan further reported that during interrogation, Hatami explicitly confessed: "My goal in participating in the riots was to overthrow the system, and I attacked and entered this site to find firearms and ammunition."According to the case investigator's report, at the time of the crime, Hatami had carefully observed security protocols, indicating his awareness and deliberate presence in operational riot scenes.After being apprehended by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Amirhossein Hatami was tried on charges of engaging in operational acts against national security on behalf of the Zionist regime, the United States, hostile groups, and their affiliated agents — acts that caused public fear and insecurity — as well as entering classified military sites with the intent to remove combat weapons and ammunition, destroying and setting fire to government property in order to oppose the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The verdict was also reviewed by the judges of Iran's Supreme Court, who dismissed the defendant's appeal, upheld and affirmed the court's ruling, and the death sentence was carried out on Thursday morning.
