ABNA24 - Italian and German Foreign Ministers said their countries are not willing to join the coalition proposed by Trump for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Italy's Foreign Minister stated that his country has no naval mission that could be extended to the Strait of Hormuz.

He emphasized: Diplomacy is the correct approach for interaction with the Strait of Hormuz.

Germany's Foreign Minister also rejected any NATO role in securing the Strait of Hormuz and emphasized that: This coalition should not take responsibility for this waterway.

The Spokesperson for the German Chancellor added: Iran's war has no connection with NATO; this is not a NATO war.

Prior to this, Keir Starmer, the British Prime Minister and one of Trump's closest allies, also rejected the U.S. request to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz and emphasized: We will not enter a wider war.
