Israel seeking to disintegrate the region - Arab Analyst

An analyst of Middle Eastern affairs considers the purpose of the persistent US-Israeli warmongering, to be shaping a new “Sykes-Picot Agreement” in the region and dividing it based on religion and ethnicity.

AhlulBayt News Agency: An analyst of Middle Eastern affairs considers the purpose of the persistent US-Israeli warmongering, to be shaping a new “Sykes-Picot Agreement” in the region and dividing it based on religion and ethnicity.

Firas Abu Hilal, in an article on the “Arabi21” website said the conspiracy to divide the region takes on a religious nature, especially with Trump administration, and the cabinet of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, who rely on religious principles.

The remarks made by prominent figures in Washington and Tel Aviv, regarding support for the so-called “Greater Israel” plan, reveal the effort to re-divide the region, similar to Sykes-Picot Agreement, he added.

The Sykes-Picot Agreement was a secret agreement between Britain and France, concluded on May 9, 1916, during World War I with the consent of Russia, to partition the Ottoman Empire, leading to the division of Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine between France and Britain.

The Trump administration and the coalition cabinet consisting of Zionist religious parties and Likud, led by Netanyahu, emphasize this religious war and the division of the region, Abu Hilal said.

Lindsey Graham, an American Republican Senator, also confirmed that this is a religious war that will determine the future of the Middle East for another thousand years.

Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, also emphasized the Christian nature of Europe and America in his speech at the Munich Security Conference.

The religious nature of the war against the nations of the region aligns with the statements of US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee.

He recently emphasized what he considers the historical right of the Israeli regime to dominate the areas between the Nile and Euphrates rivers.

Even Yair Lapid, the head of the opposition in the Israeli regime, supported Huckabee's statements and the so-called “Greater Israel” project.

Earlier, Former Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the joint US-Israeli aggression against Iran in the midst of diplomacy proved once again that for them peace is an “existential threat.”
