The Iranian embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, held a mourning ceremony following the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
According to the public relation office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, a number of Iranian and Indonesian devotees of the late Leader attended the mourning rituals at the embassy’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Husseiniya (religious center).
Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Mohammad Boroujerdi and head of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Islamic Center in Indonesia Hojat-ol-Islam Fares delivered speeches at the event.
It also included elegy recitations, chest beating rituals and congregational prayers.
Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei was martyred in a US-Israeli attack on his office in Tehran on Saturday morning.
In a statement early on Sunday, the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers offered condolences to Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent), the noble Iranian nation and the Muslim Ummah over the great loss and declared 40 days of national mourning
