Dozens of protesters in NYC call for stopping war against Iran

Hundreds of antiwar activists and opponents of US military intervention in Manhattan, New York, held a widespread rally condemning the United States’ military attacks against Iran.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Hundreds of antiwar activists and opponents of US military intervention in Manhattan, New York, held a widespread rally condemning the United States’ military attacks against Iran.

Protesters against the policies of US President Donald Trump and the war against Iran began their march on Monday evening local time from Columbus Circle and poured into the streets to demonstrate their opposition to the overt military aggression by the US and Israel against Iran.

Some protesters held pictures of Ayatollah Khamenei, the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and chanted slogans including “Globalize the Intifada,” condemning Western policies.

The joint military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, which resulted in the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, began on February 28, 2026. It took place while indirect negotiations between Iran and the US, mediated by certain regional countries, were underway.

Analysts believe this action demonstrated that the US does not practically adhere to the principles of dialogue, confidence-building, and the peaceful resolution of differences, and continues to use the military option as a tool for political pressure.

Following the joint military aggression by the US and the Israeli regime, Iran delivered a decisive, targeted, and proportionate response to this action. Within the framework of this legitimate response, military and security positions of the Israeli regime in various cities of occupied Palestine, as well as bases and centers for the deployment of American forces in the region, were targeted with precision-guided missiles, drones, and aerial attacks.

Iran’s official authorities have emphasized that these operations were carried out within the framework of the inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, with the aim of deterrence, preventing the continuation of aggression, and imposing costs on the aggressors.

Iran has warned that any expansion of the aggression will be met with a stronger and broader response.
