AhlulBayt News Agency: Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani emphasized that Tehran, unlike Washington, has prepared itself for a long war.
"Iran, unlike the United States, has prepared itself for a long war," Larijani wrote on X on Monday, amid a joint military onslaught by Washington and the Zionist regime against Tehran.
The United States and Israel waged a war against Iran on Saturday. As in the June onslaught, the offensive was launched amid diplomatic negotiations on Tehran’s nuclear program.Iran’s Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has confirmed that 555 citizens have been martyred across the country since Saturday.The Iranian Armed Forces conducted massive missile attacks in retaliation, targeting the Israeli-occupied territories and American military bases across the region.
"As in the past 300 years, Iran did not start this war and our brave Armed Forces have not engaged in any attacks except in defense," the top security official said.Larijani added, "We will fiercely defend ourselves and our six thousand years old civilization regardless of the costs and will make the enemies sorry for their miscalculation."
