AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Ayatollah Mohammad Mehdi Hadavi Tehrani, speaking at the opening of his advanced kharij jurisprudence class, marked the start of the 10-day celebrations commemorating the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and paid tribute to the historic return of Imam Ruhollah Khomeini to Iran.
Referring to the role of the people in the victory and continuity of the revolution, he said that over the 47 years since the Islamic Revolution, Iranians have consistently demonstrated that whenever the foundations of the system have been at stake, they have stepped forward. He described what he called the most recent major manifestation of this loyalty as occurring during the “12-day war of the Zionist regime against Iran,” adding that adversaries had expected people to chant slogans against the government, but instead they took to the streets to defend it.
Emphasizing the role of public patience and solidarity in helping the country overcome crises, the member of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said that today’s Iran is not comparable to the early revolutionary period in various fields, including military and security affairs. He noted that despite economic and social difficulties, the people have remained patient, while officials are working with all their capacity to manage and contain the challenges. He added that although the nation has criticisms and protests, it has not withdrawn its support for the core of the Islamic Republic.
In closing, Hadavi Tehrani expressed hope that public participation in this year’s anniversary march marking the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11 (22 Bahman) would be broader than in previous years, once again demonstrating to Iran’s adversaries that the Iranian nation, despite its grievances, remains loyal to the country and the ideals of the revolution.
