This is according to Hojat-ol-Islam Abdi, deputy of Allameh Tabataba’i Center for Research on Quranic Sciences and Teachings.
He said that in line with supreme leader’s emphasis on commemorating great Muslim scholars, the center decided to organize the congress to honor Abolhassan Ali ibn Ebrahim Qomi, known as Sheikh Aghdam, who was the first Shia to interpret the verses of the holy Quran.
“Call for papers was issued last year and 36 papers have been submitted to the secretariat of the congress,” he said, adding that 16 papers have been selected to be presented at the event.
Hojat-ol-Islam Abdi added that 25 volumes of Ali ibn Ebrahim’s works and research studies on his works have been prepared to be published before the congress commences.
“Among his works are “At-Tafsir (interpretation)”,” Akhbar-ul-Quran”, “Ash-Sharaye”, “Tawhid and Shirk (monotheism and polytheism)”, “Al-Managhib”, “Ikhtiar-ul-Quran”, “Virtues of the Commander of the Faithful”, and “Al-Anbia (the prophets)”.
Abolhassan Ali ibn Ebrahim Qomi was a great Muslim scholar in the fields of hadith, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), and Quran interpretation in the 3rd and 4th centuries of Hijra.
