AhlulBayt News Agency: In her message, she said, “Qurbani (sacrifice) is not merely about the slaughter of an animal; it is a profound expression of sincerity, divine love, and the pursuit of closeness to God. It is a sacred legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), made obligatory on the followers of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The true essence of sacrifice lies in the willingness of the heart to give up everything for the love of the Creator. That sincerity is what renders the sacrifice meaningful and a means for forgiveness.”
Syeda Masooma Naqvi also reflected on the powerful example of Lady Hajra (AS), whose unmatched dedication and upbringing of her son, Prophet Ismail (AS), became the foundation of the spiritual message of Eid al-Adha. “Her strength as a mother and companion is commemorated today by the entire Muslim ummah. Mothers of today must follow her example in raising courageous and God-conscious children,” she noted.
She urged the public not to forget the suffering of oppressed Muslims around the world, especially in Gaza. “As we celebrate this festival, let us remember the sacrifices of our Palestinian and Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Let us pray for their freedom and well-being.”
Masooma Naqvi concluded by encouraging the spirit of generosity: “This Eid, be sure to include the needy, the poor, and your relatives in the distribution of sacrificial meat. Sharing joy is the true spirit of this holy day.”
