Amr Moussa, the secretary-general of the Arab League strongly denounced Israel for allowing extremist Jewish groups to storm the Aqsa Mosque to perform religious rituals.
Moussa said that such acts were a precedent never happened since the occupation of east Jerusalem in 1967 and a flagrant violation of international law.
Extremist Jewish groups protected by Israeli policemen and soldiers had stormed Sunday morning the Aqsa Mosque and toured around the Mosque and performed some of their rituals.
The Aqsa foundation condemned this violation as an unprecedented step and an escalation and urged the Palestinian citizens in occupied Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied lands to frequent the Aqsa Mosque.
In another context, the Arab League head expressed hope that the next round of the inter-Palestinian dialog in Cairo to be held after the holy month of Ramadan would be the end of internal division.
