ISIS behead three civilians in Mosul on charges of spying

Extremists of the ISIS publicly executed three civilians in Iraq’s northwestern Nineveh province on charges of spying for Iraqi force, local activists and eyewitnesses reported on Saturday.

AhlulBayt News Agency - Extremists of the ISIS publicly executed three civilians in Iraq’s northwestern Nineveh province on charges of spying for Iraqi force, local activists and eyewitnesses reported on Saturday.

The three victims were arrested by ISIS militants on Friday evening while trying to escape the Safina village in the Qayyarah district in southern Mosul.

“The ISIS-linked Sharia Court in Mosul claimed that interrogations revealed the involvement of the three young men in leaking security information about the group to the Kurdish Peshmerga forces,” media activist Abdullah al-Malla said in Mosul.

“They were beheaded in front of hundreds of people in central Mosul,” the source reported.

The head of Nineveh media centre Raafat al-Zarari confirmed the execution report, saying: “By such executions, ISIS is trying to send a message to the Peshmerga, Iraqi army and the US-led coalition that the group is still powerful and is able to uncover any attempts to leak security information about its activities to those forces.”
