AhlulBayt News Agency - The Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jund Al-Aqsa” attempted to advance in the northern Hama countryside on Sunday morning; however, they were stopped in their tracks by the Syrian Arab Army’s 47th Regiment of the 11th Tank Division after a violent battle.
According to a military correspondent in Hama, the Syrian Armed Forces killed over 20 Jund Al-Aqsa militants after the latter attempted to advance from the village of ‘Atshan to nearby Ma’an.
Following the failed advance, Jund Al-Aqsa would retreat north along the Aleppo-Damascus Highway in order to evade the swarming fighter jets from the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) that were hunting them down.
