Syrian Army liberates Badr Brigade Base from ISIS in northeast Damascus

The liberation of the Badr Brigade Base on Tuesday has positioned the Syrian Armed Forces within striking distance of the ISIS stronghold of Tal Dakwah in the southeastern part of the Qalamoun Mountains.

AhlulBayt News Agency - The Syrian Arab Army – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) – liberated the Badr Brigade Base in northeastern Damascus on Tuesday after a violent battle with the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) near the Dumayr Military Airport.

According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Armed Forces launched their assault from the southern perimeter of the Dumayr Military Airport, capturing several checkpoints from the terrorist organization before reaching the northern flank of the Badr Brigade Base.

The liberation of the Badr Brigade Base on Tuesday has positioned the Syrian Armed Forces within striking distance of the ISIS stronghold of Tal Dakwah in the southeastern part of the Qalamoun Mountains.

Should they capture Tal Dakwah from the terrorist organization, they will have ISIS pinned down between the Rif Dimashq and Al-Sweida governorates.

Currently, ISIS maintains a rather large presence in northeastern Al-Sweida; this is due to the province’s proximity to the Deir Ezzor Governorate and the Iraqi border-crossing.
