AhlulBayt News Agency - The reemergence of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Palestinian committees in the Yarmouk Camp District has forced the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) and Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) to consider making peace with one another.
On Sunday, a committee of Yarmouk residents met with the emirs of both Jabhat Al-Nusra and ISIS to negotiate a three hour daily truce that would allow for civilians to conduct commerce and deliver aid to the residents caught in the middle of the fighting; it was accepted and expected to begin immediately.
Following the conclusion of this meeting, the top ISIS emir in Yarmouk Camp sent a letter to the Jabhat Al-Nusra command that offered them an open-ended peace agreement if they would withdraw from the Al-Bassil Pool area, Al-Ja’ouneh Street, and Haifa Street.
In return, ISIS agreed to withdraw from Farn Hamdan and the Al-Tabega School area in the southern sector of Yarmouk Camp – Jabhat Al-Nusra has not accepted yet.
However, Jabhat Al-Nusra did accuse ISIS of opening fire on two children in front of the Palestine Mosque; this accusation was corroborated by local residents, who claimed that a 15 year old boy was killed on Sunday.
ISIS accused Jabhat Al-Nusra of killing three of their fighters when they tried to sneak into 15th Street.
Among the dead on 15th Street was an ISIS emir that was identified as “Abu Dawoud Al-Yamani” from the Damascene suburb of Hujirah.
Meanwhile, at the intersection between Loubya Street and Ja’ouneh Street, the Palestinian committees – backed by the Syrian Arab Army’s artillery regiment – were able to advance south towards the Palestine Roundabout after a violent battle with ISIS.
