AhlulBayt News Agency - The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” have returned to the Aleppo Governorate after a short hiatus to help liberate the strategic city of Palmyra (Tadmur) from the so-caleld Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).
However, the Tiger Forces will not be concentrated in east Aleppo this time around; instead, they have been deployed to the Handarat front in the north, where they will help recapture several villages under the control of the extremist rebels.
The Tiger Forces are no stranger to this front; in fact, one of their first major military operations took place in northern Aleppo during the Spring months of 2014.
This aforementioned offensive by the Tiger Forces lifted the one year long siege of the Aleppo Central Prison, while also paving the way for the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) to push west towards besieged Al-Zahra and Nubl.
As of now, the Tiger Forces have not physically participated in the Handarat offensive; however, they have begun the reconnaissance phase of their military operation.
Once again, this military operation will be led by Colonel Suheil Al-Hassan and his understudy, Colonel Shady Isma’eel.
