AhlulBayt News Agency - On Monday in the Qalamoun Mountains of Greater Damascus, the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) launched a large-scale offensive along the eastern countryside of the Dumayr Military Airport.
The terrorist group launched a VBIED (vehicle borne improvised explosive device) towards the Sara’ Checkpoint that is located between the Dumayr Military Airport (10km east) and the Regiment 16 base; it reportedly hit their intended target.
Following the VBIED attack, ISIS stormed the Syrian Arab Army’s positions along the eastern slopes of the Qalamoun Mountains; this is where the current fighting is taking place tongiht.
Clashes are still ongoing between the two parties; however, there have been no reported gains as of yet.
