AhlulBayt News Agency - Head of the Palestinian Prisoners Society Qadoura Fares said on Monday that the number of Palestinian female prisoners has risen to three times since last October compared to last year. The number jumped to 59 female captives distributed in two Israeli jails: Hasharon and Damon.
In a statement issued by the society on the International Women's Day, which falls on March 08, Fares revealed that the number of female minors arrested is 13 including a 12-year-old girl called Dima al-Wawi, the youngest female captive in the world.
The society pointed out that the Israeli Prisons Service has been procrastinating in treating injured detainees among imprisoned women whose number is 10 captives.
15 female prisoners were issued sentences with various periods of imprisonments. There are 41 captives held under custody in addition to 3 others held under administrative detention with no charge or trial, the statement added.
